The caption which I have kept is very famous line of our prode poet Sri Jibanananda Das.But I am afraid except Mr.Gautam Sanyal ,the new PA of our CM of Bengal ,nobody does not think even to come back to Bengal from outside. Due to professional reasons I interact with Bengalis of Maharashtra ,Gujrat,Bangalore & find they are happy enough in their respective states. They clearly frustrated by the destructive politics of Bengal. It was a huge celebration when CPIM won for 7th time & this time it is bigger since left has lost after 35 years. Euphoria of winning is everywhere from news channels to newspapers. This even grew bigger when it was suddenly declared that that hill problem is resolved.Nobody asked how a longstanding problem can be resolved with unelected representative & what is the content of the agreement. The persons of hill went back to Darjeeling and declared that separate statehood is their agenda now as well. Then came the news of dangerous recognition of 10000 Madrasas. The decision is completely in violation to IB findings that antinational teachings are practiced their & dictum of following states education norms to get recognition. Latest is the declaration of Singur Bill.It clearly shows Bengal politicians are playing with fire and sending indication to world not to come back or come to Bengal.
Arbitrary declaration does not solve the problem ,it only pushes out investors from the state. After Tata moved out to Sanad the Economy of the area changed dramatically and two other Car Companies including Maruti will start operation shortly.Until & Unless the destructive politics against industrialization in Bengal is not stopped nobody will come to Bengal.Forget about Tata, what about Jindal Power? The company owned by Congress MP.Their party is in power now but still they are showing no interest in opening their valued project in Bengal.I am quoting report from The Statesman below which clearly shows,Tatas will not give up land easily,I doubt they give it at all.
Tata Motors begs to differ
KOLKATA/MUMBAI, 14 JUNE: Claiming that it had moved out of Singur because of an escalation of hostilities and the absence of any guarantee of safety, Tata Motors said that they were studying the Bill that was tabled in the state Assembly today and would take appropriate steps. In a statement issued by the company, noting that the Bill mentions “non-commissioning and abandoning of the project by Tata Motors and goes on to state that no employment generation and socio-economic development has taken place and people in and around the area have not benefited in any manner”, Tata Motors clarified that the setting up and commissioning of the plant was conducted amidst violence, damage to property and threats to personnel. It said that even though they made an appeal on 22 August, 2008, for a congenial environment, escalation of hostilities continued through a blockade on the highway and more incidents of physical assault and intimidation of personnel. “Therefore, Tata Motors did not find the situation congenial and there being no guarantee of a safe and peaceful environment, had to reluctantly close operations on 3 October, 2008, and eventually moved out.” The release claimed that the Company had invested nearly Rs 1800 crores in establishing the plant and it still has buildings, sheds and infrastructure on the plot on which about Rs 440 crores was invested. Tata Motors also undertook community development programmes at Singur. About 767 individuals were trained, 102 health clinics were run treating over 17,000 patients and adjacent schools were supported with necessary infrastructure, the statement noted. sns
