Belated happy birthday Dr.Kalam. Live & enlighten us for 100 years moreYou were in first line to advise Nuclear energy to NDA. It is obvious that being a great scientist & first apolitical President of India you apprised the government the scientific point of view. The economic part of that should have handled with best Financial stalwarts, which Manmohan government’s arrogance prevented to do so.I have written several times with little research why. Renewable energy is far better than nuclear energy in Indian context. That is true for both ecologically and economically.. More & more scientific research work is being carried out. Last five years when the world suffered from recession, cost of accessories to establish power plant has gone down significantly. So solar power plant in Kankrej becomes Asia ’s biggest with only investment of 465 Crores..The plant was inaugurated by Sri Narendra Modi on Friday. Today another development has taken place. Singapore based Navab Singh led a team of researchers & claimed to have exploited monostructure technology. Their research claims that it would halve the cost of setting up Solar power plant. A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics claims that they have made highly efficient and yet cheaper silicon solar cell. The nano-structured solar cells can produce a current of (34.3mA/cm2) & The resulting electricity current output is close to those of traditional cells (40mA/cm2). Prof Prof Cheng Tee Hiang , ateam member of Dr.Singh said the next generation of solar cells which are cheap, efficient and easy to manufacture, so as to enable solar energy to play a bigger role as a renewable resource” So it establishes once again that setting up a solar power plant will involve nearly 1/20 the of the investment one requires to set up a Nuclear power plant. For the obvious reason the electricity developed by the Nuclear plants will be much more costly and nearly impossible to bear it for the common men. India has huge area of land and god has blessed us with plenty of Sunrays and air. It will be absolutely foolish if don’t utilize it.
There lies the difference of vision between Narendra Modi and Manmohan Singh.

I wonder why the scientist like Kalam has refused to talk regarding nuclear power projects today. He has sought 10 days to comment on this.I am sure ,he is studying the adverse effect on N project as well.
World has seen disasters in Japan . So Indians are scared logically. Yesterday a public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court by a group of citizens seeking direction to the safety reassessment of all existing and proposed nuclear facilities in the country. “The petition sought to issue a writ cancelling clearances given to proposed nuclear plants and staying all projects till requisite safety assessment studies, comparative cost-benefit analysis and meaningful public hearings are carried out by or under the supervision of an independent body of experts” Deccan Herald reports.
So clearly the battle has gone to battle has gone into second lavel. So 10 days which doctor Kalam sought from journalists are justified.
Against these 10 days. CM has given 7 days to the Maoist to stop violence. Earlier Mao ist sought one month of ceasefire which CM called “Rubbish”. History tells, how much proximity they had with Maoists. Mahashweta Devi, the renowned novelist & Mao Sympathizer expressed dissatisfaction over Army presence in Lalgarh. Chatradhar Mahato Jailed tribal leader has said from jail that TMC is playing game of doublespeak. Singer and MP Suman is distanced himself from any activity for a long time.So it is evident that a battle line is being drawn.
One can only hope this 7 days & afterwards will not bring another phase of bloody politics in Bengal .
Be it 10 days for Dr,Kalam for Nuclear projects or & 7 days for Mamata regarding ultimatum to Maoists, both has to be observed keenly keeping interest of the nation and the state.
