“Every fifth child born in the family in our parish stands to get richer by Rs10,000. It will be deposited in the name of the child as fixed deposit,”Salu Mecheril, regional coordinator of the programme launched by St Vincent De Paul Forane Church, Kalpetta in Wynadu district told DNA. This declaration is on reply to One bill, which was presented to the government by the Commission on Rights and Welfare of Women and Children Headed by Justice V R Krishna Iyer on Saturday at Kerala.

Now I want to ask again to the people of India if these people are not anti Indian who are those. Country wants a strong law for checking birth rate because counts of poor people exceeded total population count of India, Why not criminal case can not be slapped, only because they are minority?  This case is more grave as the speaker is from church. What govt. will do if all the churches issue such instruction and Maulavi’s issue Fatwa to encourage child production? More stupid in this declaration that the church will deposit Rs.10000 in the name of child in Bank. What will happen with so meager money? Aren’t they deliberately creating poor and after few days, they will demand reservation and our law makers will become very conscious of them?

Let me remind you once again Kerala has Christians & muslims which consists total of 44 % in 31.8 million. Since I am from Majority community people will put me a tag of communal. Let me show you statistics from “What is True Development? The Kerala Model” by Bill McKibben. Here he says Kerala (pronounced ker'uh luh) , “a state of 29 million people in southern India, is poor--even for India--with a per capita income estimated by various surveys to be between $298 and $350 a year, about one-seventieth the American average. When the American anthropologist Richard Franke surveyed the typical Keralite village of Nadur in the late 1980s, he found that nearly half the 170 families had only cooking utensils, a wooden bench, and a few stools in their homes. No beds--that was the sum of their possessions. Thirty-six percent also had some chairs and cots, and 19 percent owned a table. In five households he discovered cushioned seats” He goes on to say “There is chronic unemployment, a stagnant economy that may have trouble coping with world markets, and a budget deficit that is often described as out of control., the beggars reaching through the car window, the children with distended bellies, the baby girls left to die.” This move is not the first one from Christian community on 3.8.2008 Sreelatha Menon reported same move in Business Standard as well. That time move was from the Govt. Communists were ruling the state. So it is clear, whether it is Congress or CPM all are in the bent of mind of doing Communal politics. Most importantly I want to remind you that state was having largest number of worker in middle East. After recession majority percentage has returned. So the state already suffering hard. Only after that move was made by the Communist Government nonagenarian Justice Iyer were designated to give report. When he recommended punishment for whom having more than two Children.

“In a 94-page report submitted to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Saturday, the committee suggested the adoption of family planning and birth control as a secular policy of population regulation in the State.” The Hindu reported. The report recommended ““Within the scope of a lawful wedlock, solemnised after the date of commencement of this Code, each unit of husband and wife shall limit its children to two for entitlement to the advantages the State grants to the members of a family and for avoidance of the legal disqualifications provided under this Chapter [provisions intended to encourage population planning for well-being and children's development]. If, on the legal termination of a wedlock, one of the spouses lawfully marries again, the children born by that wedlock shall be members of a different family for the purpose of this Chapter,” the report said.
The committee recommended that any act or omission, movement, campaign or project, which induces or tends to induce the violation of the family norm of two children as prescribed under this Chapter, or in any other manner abets the violation of the provisions, shall be regarded as a ‘legally disqualified person.'
Only after this recommendation “Communal” forces became active. Country should see this law is strictly forced by the authorities among all communities.
