Please don’t count number of incidents reported below. Why this sudden depression in students are growing.They are the finest brains of the country. Most importantly they are son or daughter of parents. Are we doing justice to our self keeping mum on this issue. Whenever we see Education minister changes they propose to change from the ground.All try to infuse some basic chapter which includes particular parties’ ideology. But nobody think about the pressure of student who are doing higher education. How long we will keep pressurizing our kids to be best of the best so that they can go abroad. Why can’t we keep our expectation level low, so that they don’t feel pressurized. My humble request to stand by our future. Please assure them that we will be happy whatever they earn with sweet smile and big heart.

1)      Malini Murmu, 22, was a first-year MBA student and a native of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. Investigation officers said she found out from Facebook that her boyfriend had dumped her.So, hanged herself in her hostel room in the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Reported 20.9.11

2)      19-year-old S Naveen, first-year MBBS student from Tagore Medical College was found hanging from a tree near Thalambur in Kanchipuram district on Saturday. His parents said he might have committed suicide because he was ragged by his seniors. Reported on 29.8.11.on 23.8 a student in Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology of Bhopal found hanging in college hostel room.

3)      Mahtab Ahmed,18,a first year student of B.Tech in IIT Kanpur found hanging in hostel room. Police suspects it a case of depression over love affair.Reported on 23.9.11.'I am tired of IIT...What is the meaning of happiness, yet trying to get answer,' wrote Ahmed on one of the walls.

                         

4)      Neha ,19 year old from Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh was found dead in Maulana Azad Medical college in New Delhi..Her body found hanging in one of the rooms of hostel which was under renovation.Dean said she was very good in academics but depressed in recent past..This was a case of 1^st May,2008.

5)      Sunil Kujur, a fourth year student of IIT Kharagpur, was found hanging in his hostel room on Tuesday evening. He was a brilliant student and had no problem with studies but was depressed for some reason, say his friends. This is the second suicide at IIT-Kgp in three months. In July, a final year student of the metallurgy department had killed himself. This incident reported today 19.10.2011

6)      The Monojit Roy a final year student of Jalpaiguri Engineering college was found dead in hostel.His father alleged he was murdered.He was from Basirhat of North 24 Pargana. His father alleged murder. This happened on 6^th June 2011 but police said death had taken place long back.

7)      Abhijit Mondal, a second year student of mechanical engineering at the Bengal Engineering and Science University (Besu), consumed an overdose of sleeping pills and is in a critical condition, police said. He has been admitted to SSKM hospital on Tuesday evening. Mondal is a resident of Salt Lake and was staying in Besu hostel number 7 when he was found in an unconscious state.
